For many of us, our time at Girls’ High played a pivotal role in our development. We made lifelong friends, found our voices, and discovered individual talents and interests. Then, we ventured out into the world to be the adult version of the women we started becoming at Broad and Olney, or 17th and Spring Garden, all those years ago.

The Next Generation Rises

The next generation of girls is just getting started, and we urge you to support your alumnae association, so we can continue to empower the next generation of girls from all over Philadelphia. Young women need a place to experiment and connect with who they can be in the future and you can help by making a gift today.

Acclaimed author and member of the 235th graduating class, Ayana Mathis, recently spoke with Philadelphia Magazine and described Girls’ High as a haven during a tumultuous time in her life and a place where she began to find herself.

“In 1987, nobody was thinking about the fact that the boys were always the ones who spoke out the loudest and who were allowed to speak for the longest. But at Girls’ High, the people who speak the loudest and longest were all girls. The sports stars were all girls,” Mathis said. “Those four years really changed my sense of self and my confidence.”

Make your gift today and we will continue to provide much-needed resources for the school like stipends for students to participate in enrichment programs, supplemental books and supplies for the classrooms, and more. With your support, we will begin the process of renovating the library to build a state-of-the-art, fully modernized learning center.

Thank you for helping us keep the Girls’ High legacy alive and our Intangible Spirit strong. Your generosity will dramatically impact the lives of young women for years to come!
