Expanding the Alumnae Association of the Philadelphia High School for Girls Board of Directors:
The Alumnae Association of the Philadelphia High School for Girls is seeking Directors eager to lead the organization in a new phase of growth and expansion. We are looking for Directors to help set the organization’s strategy in the coming 3-5 years, increase the sustainability of the organization and increase its ability to meet the needs of the GHS community. Alumnae Association of the Philadelphia High School for Girls is especially interested in Directors with skills and experience in law, finance, higher education, economic development, entrepreneurship, individual fundraising, corporate sponsorship programs and large foundation or corporate grants.
Board Member Qualifications:
We are seeking Directors with the following:
- Understanding of the fiduciary responsibilities of a non-profit Board
- Passion for expanding access to education
- Prior board experience (corporate, advisory or nonprofit)
- Experience with corporate sponsorship, government or large foundations, or grant writing
- Legal or corporate financial expertise
- Experience in economic development
- Experience raising money in the for-profit or non-profit arenas
The Board of Directors Logistics & Responsibilities:
- Attend monthly meetings September through June
- Participate in at least one committee (e.g. governance, finance and audit, communications and development). Committees meet monthly either in-person or via conference call
- Should be comfortable using email and web-based platforms as the primary means of communications and distribution of materials
- Required to actively participate in fundraising activities
- Directors serve as an ambassador for the organization with business and education communities
- Directors assist in identifying funding opportunities

We are seeking new directors for the Alumnae Association of the Philadelphia High School for Girls in 2024.
