Donations directed to a specific cause are considered restricted funds,
and are used solely for the purpose(s) to which they are directed.
The Alumnae Association supports our alumnae and our alma mater
and as such, the Association incurs operating costs. In order to help defray
these costs, the Association will reserve 8% of all funds donated that
are not expressly donated for scholarships and awards or capital improvements,
to use to pay for operating costs.

Did you know that you can designate the Alumnae Association in your will or trust? Did you know that you can donate life insurance contracts, stocks, certain bonds, and/or mutual funds? These gifts may provide needed tax benefits for you, the donor, and help our Association promote and sustain its mission for many years to come. As we age, we all talk about leaving a legacy. This is your opportunity to do so for generations of women to come, as well as to help the school and the students as they battle the financial hardships they may be facing. As you may be aware, the School District of Philadelphia continues to experience serious financial challenges which have created an untenable situation for all schools in the district.
We, alumnae, who have all profited from the education we received at Girls' High, can help prepare today's students the same opportunities we received. We will review this and other important topics at the 2024 Alumnae Business Meeting & Luncheon, and encourage your attendance.
The Alumnae board has worked to increase the support of the school but, frankly, much more is needed. We will need to move to an aggressive campaign funding model if we are to provide the school the financial support needed, which is also being provided by other public school alumni associations by necessity.
